Dull grey, octahedral skutterudite crystals to 5 mm rise from a massive skutterudite matrix. Partially enclosed in massive calcite. Unusual to see this association, as the calcite (if present) is usually removed prior to sale. If desired, mild acid treatment should remove the calcite to reveal more skutterudite crystals.
