A limonite matrix cleft is carpeted with acicular malachite 'fuzz'. A few gemmy azurite crystals to about 3 mm are also seen as well as one doubly terminated malachite replacement of a previous azurite crystal, about 4 mm in size. (Malachite replacements of azurite are uncommon at the Ojuela Mine). The edge of the cleft hosts a few gemmy, transparent calcite crystals. The matrix contains additional veins of crystalline azurite and malachite. Could be reduced to a thumbnail without major loss. Best appreciated under magnification: hand lens, microscope or camera lens.
