This specimen began as a bed of small gypsum crystals which became coated with lustrous, jet black goethite. The gypsum then dissolved away, leaving gypsum-shaped casts (epimorphs). Some of these epimorphs are broken, revealing hollow interiors. Glistening calcite is also present on the back of the specimen. Classic material, and in nice condition.
