43606: Beryl variety Aquamarine with
Fluorapatite - $24 Mount Antero, Chaffee County, Colorado Large cabinet - 19.5 x 8.7 x 4.9 cm 880 grams Fluorescent (SW) Specimen status: Reserved Send an email with specimen number to order Medium blue aquamarine grains abundant
in a granite matrix. Under magnification, the grains are
seen to be aligned, as if they were trying to form
elongated crystals. Interesting enough for a
federally-reserved rock hound locality noted for its
aquamarine (and spectacular scenery as well...most
collection is at ~10,000 foot elevation). Under shortwave
UV, the fluorapatite is revealed as scattered but bright
yellow grains.
