27065: Gypsum variety Selenite - $14 Lavrion Mining District, Lavreotiki, East Attica, Attica, Greece Small cabinet - 8.9 x 2.7 x 1.4 cm 56 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order A glassy gypsum crystal, worthy of the
'selenite' moniker, whose water clarity is marred only by
minor inclusions. Twinned, with the V-shape (or fishtail)
termination intact; the 'fish head' termination was lost
due to a matrix contact. Very nice overall condition,
especially considering that gypsum is rather soft (Mohs
hardness 2) and easily cleaved.
