Abundant marcasite and somewhat less abundant chalcopyrite crowd a carpet of dull, opaque dolomite, all on a chert matrix. Scattered, minor incomplete spots but overall condition is quite nice. Like pyrite, marcasite tends to decompose and produce a sulfurous odor. This is an old specimen and appears to be quite stable, with no evidence of decomposition or foul odor.
