Naica is a classic gypsum locality, noted for large (to huge) crystals and a range of gypsum colors are morphologies. This Naica example features two glossy and transparent, light brown (iron hydroxide/oxide inclusions) sharply-terminated  'swords' protruding from a flat cluster of abundant, much smaller crystals. The longest sword measures 8.1 cm. The specimen is mounted on an acrylic plate base from which is could probably be removed if desired, but this plate not only serves as a display base but also lends support and protection against handling damage. The specimen is in superb condition.
