A plate of crystal quartz is overgrowth with translucent calcite scalenohedrons. These calcites reach 6 mm and many are doubly terminated. Hematite has overgrown much of the calcite, locally ranging from a minor peppered to an outright blanket. The locality was closed and allowed to flood in 2001.
