A bright, polycrystalline pyrite group; probably a concretion. Although incomplete on the base, these specimens are usually complete all around without any obvious point of attachment (a floater). Locality is rarely more specific than Ross County. Typical for the species/locality. Previous David Crawford label identifies the species as marcasite, but this is incorrect.
