19433: Gypsum (twinned) - $24 Lake Gilles South Mine, District Council of Kimba, South Australia, Australia Small cabinet - 8.2 x 6.8 x 3.7 cm 162 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order A highly translucent to transparent
gypsum crystal, forming a pronounced 'butterfly' twin.
Scattered clay and soil inclusions are quite typical for
this locality, known for its striking (and sometimes quite
weird) twinned gypsum crystals. Recall that gypsum is a
soft mineral; the minor, scattered bruises on this
specimen are not an issue.
