A large rhombohedral siderite crystal, somewhat glossy with a surface texture resembling overlapping scales. Not a limonite replacement; when tested with dilute hydrochloric acid the sample displays slow but distinct effervescence (indicates a carbonate is present). A large example for the locality. Except for a bit of included matrix on the base the specimen is complete all around and in excellent condition.
