26750: Siderite - $24 Tormiq Valley, Haramosh Mountains, Roundu District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan Miniature - 5.3 x 4.0 x 3.6 cm 150 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order A large rhombohedral siderite crystal,
somewhat glossy with a surface texture resembling
overlapping scales. Not a limonite replacement; when
tested with dilute hydrochloric acid the sample displays
slow but distinct effervescence (indicates a carbonate is
present). A large example for the locality. Except for a
bit of included matrix on the base the specimen is
complete all around and in excellent condition.
