A lump of dull, pitch black and friable pyrobitumen (anthraxolite), 1.8 cm across, sits in a partial quartz-lined vug. These quartz crystals reach 1.3 and most (if not all) are terminated. Pyrobitumen is a mineraloid with disorganized structure and highly variable composition, formed by polymerization of petroleum over geological time. Self standing for display but photogenically challenged.
