The top of this specimen has abundant red brown, opaque and tabular vanadinite crystals to 5 mm. These sit on a layer of hematite having obvious radial growth (and has a brown streak). The base of the specimen is a layer of gray, sooty pyrolusite (which produces vigorous effervescence when treated with 12% hydrogen peroxide). An interesting mineral association specimen.
